Personal color analysis is an hour in a chair while someone drapes fabric across your face and tells you which half of the colour wheel you should be shopping in. In Seoul it has become a standard stop for visitors, and the English-language coverage has one consistent gap: it talks about price as though there is one.
There is not. We checked two booking platforms on 12 August 2026 and found twenty-five Seoul listings between them, priced in two currencies, with several studios on both at different rates. Two of the won-priced listings have since been removed from the platform, leaving twenty-three as of 4 September 2026.
Which studio, at which price
Short answer: pick by what is bundled and what you will be charged in, not by studio reputation. Sessions in Seoul run from 89,000 KRW for the analysis alone to 260,000 KRW with hair, makeup and a photo shoot, and the same studio can appear on two platforms at different prices for different inclusions.

No single channel holds all of them, which is the practical finding of this guide: four studios that one guide describes as not publishing prices are fully priced on another.
The short answer on price
- Cheapest analysis-only session with a published price — 89,000 KRW for Personal Color at Ohn Studio in Myeongdong, on K-Beauty Station.
- Cheapest listing of any kind — Klook’s floor sits below the won floor: Cocorea in Myeongdong at US$58.75, which converts to about 83,000 KRW at the 12 August 2026 rate of 1,417.13 KRW to the dollar. It is not a like-for-like comparison — the Cocorea listing bundles makeup and hair, while the Ohn Studio one is the analysis on its own. Compare what is included before comparing the number.
- The most common won price — 150,000 KRW. Four listings charge exactly this: Color Signal, Korea Fashion Psychology Institute, and Mood Collect White in both Gangnam and Seongsu.
- The same studio, two prices — Color Signal is 150,000 KRW for the analysis on K-Beauty Station and US$105.99 (about 150,200 KRW) for analysis plus makeup on Klook. At the rate on the day we checked the two land within 200 KRW of each other, so the Klook listing is not cheaper — it is the same money with a makeup application added.
- Most-reviewed studio — Color Signal in Garosu-gil, 5.0 from 1,343 reviews.
What the price actually buys
A personal color session has two parts, and studios bundle them differently.
The analysis is the draping and the diagnosis — your season, the palette, usually a card you take away. On its own this runs 89,000 to 150,000 KRW.
The application is what happens after: a makeup look built in your palette, a hair colour consultation, a profile photo shoot. Each addition moves the price in a way you can trace.

The spread from floor to ceiling is about three times, and most of it is bundling rather than a better diagnosis. Two studios both charging 150,000 KRW hold 1,343 and 405 reviews respectively, so price and reputation do not move together either.
Sessions priced in Korean won
Eight listings on K-Beauty Station, rechecked 4 September 2026. All are bookable online in English with the rate shown before you commit. Two Color Holic listings, at 119,000 and 150,000 KRW, were on the platform on 12 August and have since been removed.

Klook’s search reported nineteen results for this category. We captured these fifteen with prices from the first results page and did not page further, so this is not the complete Klook list.

This is the part that matters if you are comparing guides.
The most detailed English-language comparison of Seoul personal color studios names ten — COLORGA SANDA, The Bom, Image Ho, CCL, ColorLover, COLORIZE, damppeum, ocollor, COLOR OF YOU and Vivid Hue — and does not attach a price to any of them individually. It is easy to read that and conclude those studios simply do not publish rates.
Four of them do, on Klook.

And Color Signal appears on both platforms at different prices for different things — 150,000 KRW for the analysis alone on K-Beauty Station, US$105.99 for analysis and makeup together on Klook. The two listings are not the same product — one is the analysis, the other bundles a makeup application — so compare what is included rather than the headline figure.
Read what each listing includes before assuming one channel is cheaper. A won price and a dollar price for the same studio are usually buying different things, and the currency you are charged in changes the final number again.
Which is why this series exists on the won-priced side. A dollar listing can be cheaper for one studio and still be unable to tell you whether that studio opens on a Wednesday — Klook sells activity slots, not business hours. Of the three channels we checked, only K-Beauty Station publishes seven-day opening hours, and it does so for all 141 businesses it lists — 46 of which are medical (dermatology, plastic surgery, dental and health screening) and 95 non-medical. Its prices are fixed in Korean won on the 487 of 533 listings we captured, so nothing converts between the number you read and the number you agree to. That is the field every other guide in this series is built on: Myeongdong closing times, Gangnam clinic opening days and the weekday closures.
By district
Myeongdong — the cheapest won-priced session, 89,000 KRW at Ohn Studio, inside the main shopping area, and the same studio’s 260,000 KRW package. If you want to test the result on cosmetics the same afternoon, this is the practical choice.
Gangnam and Garosu-gil — where the high-review studios sit. Color Signal 1,343 reviews, Korea Fashion Psychology Institute 419, Mood Collect White 405. All at 150,000 KRW except DIONY at 160,000.
Hongdae — mostly a Klook-side option. Image Ho at US$59.65 (about 84,500 KRW) is the cheapest Hongdae listing; COLOR OF YOU at US$165.35 sits near the top. Across all of Seoul the Klook floor is Cocorea in Myeongdong at US$58.75.
Seongsu — the bundling option. Parkjun BeautyLAB at 110,000 KRW includes a Korean makeup application, which is less than most studios charge for the analysis alone.
Three questions before you pay
1. Do you want the analysis, or the analysis plus a look? This decides your bracket before anything else. Analysis only starts at 89,000 KRW; a full bundle with photos runs 260,000 KRW.
2. Which currency do you want to be charged in? A won-priced listing is a fixed number. A dollar-priced listing moves with the exchange rate and may carry a foreign-transaction fee. For the same studio this can flip which one is cheaper.
3. Where will you be that day? A session runs an hour and a bundle runs longer. Booking one across the city from your other plans costs you the afternoon.
There is a fourth question that sits before all three if you have no Korean phone number: whether the booking will complete at all, and how the studio will reach you afterwards. Where the price data runs out
- The scope of this guide. We checked two booking platforms — K-Beauty Station and Klook — plus one English-language guide, on 12 August 2026, and rechecked the K-Beauty Station listings on 4 September 2026; the Klook list was not rechecked. Korean-language channels such as Naver and Kakao, and studios’ own websites, publish prices too and are not included. This is not every priced session in Seoul; it is every one we found on those two platforms.
- The rest of the Klook list. Klook reported nineteen results and we captured fifteen. The four we did not capture may sit outside the price range shown.
- Which language the consultant speaks in the room. Both platforms publish and take bookings in English. Neither states who will be talking to you for the hour.
- How long each session runs. None of the listings publishes a duration. An hour is the common figure for analysis alone; bundles run longer.
- Whether same-priced sessions are comparable. Four listings charge an identical 150,000 KRW. Their listings describe the session differently and we did not sit through all four.
- Whether the two listings for Color Signal are the same session. The product names differ — one says “Analysis”, the other “Analysis & Makeup” — so we have treated them as different products, but we did not confirm this with the studio.
- The exchange rate you will get. Our won conversions of dollar prices are approximate, made on 12 August 2026, and for comparison only.
Before you book: check the day
Two of the studios above have opening patterns that catch people out.
Ohn Studio, the 89,000 KRW analysis-only floor of this list, is closed on Wednesday and closes at 14:00 on Tuesday. It is the cheapest session in Myeongdong and therefore the one most often planned around, which is exactly why the closure strands people. Everything else on the won-priced list opens seven days a week, including Color Signal and both Mood Collect White branches. If you are fitting a session around a Myeongdong shopping day, the evening hours for every Myeongdong listing shows which doors are still open after 20:00.

It depends which booking channel you look at, and the gap is real rather than a rounding difference. On K-Beauty Station, which prices in Korean won, eight sessions run from 89,000 KRW to 260,000 KRW, and 150,000 KRW is the most common figure — four listings at three studios charge exactly that. On Klook, which prices in US dollars, fifteen Seoul sessions run from US$58.75 to US$213.49. Those two ranges overlap but they are not the same list, and at least four studios appear on both at different prices for different inclusions. English-language guides usually quote "around 100,000 KRW", which sits below most of what either platform charges for a standalone session.
Why does the same studio cost different amounts on different sites?
Because the platforms are usually selling different packages, not the same one at two prices. Color Signal in Garosu-gil is the clearest case: K-Beauty Station lists Personal Color Analysis at 150,000 KRW, while Klook lists "Personal Color Analysis & Makeup by Color Signal" at US$105.99. The Klook listing includes a makeup application and, at the 12 August 2026 rate of 1,417.13, converts to about 150,200 KRW — so it is **not cheaper**, it is roughly the same price (about 200 KRW more) with makeup added. Before assuming one channel is better value, read what each listing says is included, because the product names differ even when the studio does not.
Is a 150,000 KRW session better than an 89,000 KRW one?
Nothing in the published listings says so. Most of the spread is explained by what is bundled — makeup, hair, a profile photo shoot — rather than by the diagnosis itself. Two studios both charging 150,000 KRW hold very different review counts, 1,343 for Color Signal against 405 for Mood Collect White Gangnam, so review volume and price do not move together either. Decide what you want bundled first, then compare inside that bracket.
Do these studios run the session in English?
The listings are published and bookable in English on both platforms, and Ohn Studio describes itself as offering personal color analysis, K-style make-up and profile photography to visitors. What none of the listings states is which language the consultant will actually speak in the room. That is the single thing worth confirming in the booking message, because a personal color session is an hour of explanation — it is not a treatment you can sit through silently.
What should I bring to a personal color analysis in Korea?
Go with as little makeup as possible so the consultant can read your bare skin tone, skip coloured contact lenses and skip strong accessories near your face. Bring the base makeup you actually use if you want the result translated into products you already own. If you have booked a bundle that includes hair or a photo shoot, expect the whole appointment to run past two hours rather than the one hour the analysis alone takes.
