Korean head spa in Seoul: the 15-step and 18-step treatments compared, with prices
In one line: Seoul’s head spa market has a published, comparable price list — ₩44,000 to ₩366,000 across eight salons — and almost none of it appears in the English-language guides, which recommend three salons that mostly do not publish prices at all.
Prices, step lists and booking flows below were checked on 3 August 2026 by reading the salons’ and platforms’ own pages, and every listing in the table was rechecked on 4 September 2026. Beauty pricing in Seoul moves; confirm before you commit.
The short answer
- The cheapest real head spa you can book online — ₩44,000 at Gungseochae, Seolleung Station, in Gangnam. Nothing else published comes close on price.
- The best-value branded programme — the 15-Step Signature Head Spa at Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu, ₩180,000. The same brand’s Cheongdam branch sells its 15-step at ₩200,000 on its own site.
- The one English-language guides actually name — Eco Jardin, whose 15-step and 18-step programmes are the origin of the step-count language everyone else borrows. It publishes the full step list and no price, and books by WhatsApp.
- If you want the head spa and a haircut in one visit — HOSU DOSAN, ₩140,000 in Gangnam, English consultation stated, versus ₩363,000 for the equivalent at JUNG SAEM MOOL.

What a “step” actually is
The Korean head spa reached English-speaking travellers as a number. An 18-step head spa. It sounds like a specification, and it is not one — there is no standards body, and each salon counts its own way. But the number is not empty either, because at least one salon publishes what it means.
Eco Jardin lists both programmes in full on its own site. Read them side by side and the difference is exactly three items:

The three extra steps are a massage, a herbal pack and a steam cap. Relaxation and a mask, added in the middle. Nothing in the 18-step diagnoses anything the 15-step does not, and nothing uses equipment the 15-step does not. If somebody has told you that 18 is the serious one and 15 is the short version, that is the actual gap.
The through-line is the Yume spa bed. It appears at step 11 of Eco Jardin’s list, and Park Jun Beauty Lab’s Cheongdam branch advertises “premium Takara Yume machines” as the thing that makes its rooms unlike anywhere else in Korea. The reclining spa bed with a built-in basin is the piece of hardware the premium tier is built around, and it is why these treatments take about 90 minutes rather than 30.
What the step count does not tell you: duration, whether you get a private room, and whether the person treating you speaks your language. Those are the variables that actually change the visit, and they are the ones nobody puts in the headline.
The three salons the English-language guides send you to
Search in English for a head spa in Seoul and you land on personal travel blogs, and they converge on a small set of salons. Here is what booking each one actually involves — and one thing the blogs never mention.
Eco Jardin
The salon behind the viral 18-step. Its site publishes the full 15-step and 18-step programmes, an Instagram account, an email address and a phone number, and books through a WhatsApp form with an international country selector — so a foreign number is expected, not tolerated.
What it does not publish is a price, or an address. You submit the form and someone comes back to you. For a treatment other salons sell at ₩180,000–250,000, that is a meaningful gap in the information you have before you commit — and it is why Eco Jardin cannot appear in the price table further down. It is not on any booking platform we checked either, K-Beauty Station included.
Park Jun Beauty Lab, Cheongdam
Marketed in English at seoulheadspa.co.kr, and the source of the “Premium Original 15-Step Stem Cell Scalp Treatment” at ₩200,000, 1 hour 30 minutes. The branch states that all its designers speak English and Japanese with no interpreter, and that it is a designated Gangnam Medical Tourism Alliance partner. Combination packages with a perm or hair treatment run ₩320,000–504,000 at event pricing.
And here is the thing the blogs miss. Park Jun Beauty Lab’s Seongsu branch sells its 15-Step Signature Head Spa at ₩180,000 and an 18-Step Premium Head Spa at ₩250,000 — bookable online, price shown up front. Same brand, different branch, ₩20,000 less for the 15-step.
Treat that as a lead rather than an equivalence, because the Cheongdam site says so itself, in its own headline: “Even within the same brand, each location operates with a different system.” The room, the machine and the products may differ between branches. What you can rely on is that the Seongsu branch publishes its price and Cheongdam publishes its step count, and between the two you can size the market.
JUNO HAIR Myeongdong, Branch 4
Runs its own English site at myeongdongheadspa.com, describes a 10–15 step scalp programme with private shampoo rooms, and books over WhatsApp or a contact form that asks for your country code. Director stated as Hye-young Noh, 25 years’ experience. No prices published.
The same salon appears on K-Beauty Station, where its Scalp Conditioning is ₩220,000, listed under JUNO HAIR Myeongdong. Whether that is the same programme as the one on the salon’s English site is not something either page tells you — the menus are described differently — so ask, and use the platform figure as a sense of the price bracket rather than a quote.
The pattern across all three: the salons with the strongest English-language reputation are the ones that make you ask for a price, and the ones with published prices are largely absent from the English-language guides. That is what this table is for.
Every head spa in Seoul with a published online price
Thirteen treatments, eight salons, five districts, rechecked on 4 September 2026 on K-Beauty Station, which lists them in English with prices in won. Ratings are the salon’s, not the treatment’s — see the note below the table.

Two things to read carefully in that table.
The ratings are salon-level. All three HOSU DOSAN treatments carry an identical 4.9 from 233 reviews; both JUNG SAEM MOOL entries carry 4.5 from 101; both Park Jun Seongsu entries carry 5.0 from 98. The number is attached to the salon and repeated on each of its treatments, so it tells you how the salon is regarded, not how that specific treatment went. JUNO HAIR’s 5.0 from 12,625 is a chain-scale figure and should be read as brand reputation rather than as twelve thousand people reviewing one scalp treatment. Both CELLPA entries carry 4.9 from 302, and Juno SEOUL’s Signature carries 5.0 from 248 — the salon’s figure again, not the treatment’s.
Two entries are not quite head spas. JUNG SAEM MOOL’s two entries are a makeup-artist brand’s package where the head spa comes attached to a cut or a full face. Included because you will meet them searching, flagged so you do not compare them straight against a 90-minute scalp ritual.
One listing excluded. JUNO HAIR Myeongdong also shows a “Hair & Scalp Benefits” item priced at ₩1 — that is a members’ event for customers of a partner clinic, not a treatment you can walk up and buy, and it would distort any price comparison it appeared in.
By budget
Entry, ₩44,000–80,000. Gungseochae at Seolleung and HOSU DOSAN. Scalp care at a working hair salon: shampoo, massage, treatment, blow dry. HOSU DOSAN’s listing specifies scalp analysis and states English consultation, which at this price is unusual. You will not get a private room or a microscope report.
The programmes, ₩180,000–250,000. Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu’s 15-step and 18-step, Juno SEOUL’s 18-step Signature in Hannam-dong, CELLPA’s 60- and 90-minute programmes, BY SEOUL, JUNO HAIR’s Scalp Conditioning. This is the tier the viral posts are about — roughly 90 minutes, diagnosis at both ends, a spa bed. Within it, the price differences are about room and equipment rather than about how much scalp care you receive.
Bundled, ₩350,000+. JUNG SAEM MOOL’s cut-plus-spa and makeup-plus-spa in Garosu-gil. You are buying a designer salon’s cut or a makeup artist’s face, with the head spa included. If the head spa is the point of the visit, this is the wrong tier; if you want to be photographed afterwards, it is the right one.

If you are staying in Myeongdong and price matters more than the walk, Gangnam is fifteen to twenty minutes away on Line 4 to Line 2 and starts at a quarter of the Myeongdong price.
How to choose, in three questions
- Do you want the programme, or the treatment? If the 15-step or 18-step language is what brought you here, the bookable, priced versions are Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu and, for the 18-step, Juno SEOUL in Hannam-dong. Everything else in that tier is a good scalp treatment described differently.
- Do you need to know the price before you go? If yes, the table above is the whole market. If you are comfortable asking, Eco Jardin and JUNO HAIR Branch 4 both book by WhatsApp and both have the stronger English-language reputation. - Are you fitting it around a haircut? Then HOSU DOSAN at ₩140,000 for spa plus cut is the value play, and Park Jun Cheongdam’s ₩320,000–504,000 packages are the premium version of the same idea.
What we could not verify
- Eco Jardin’s prices and location. Neither is on its site. Any figure you see quoted in a blog post is that writer’s receipt, not a published rate, and may be a year old.
- Whether Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu’s 15-step is the same treatment as Cheongdam’s. The brand states outright that branches run different systems. The names match; we did not confirm the contents match.
- Duration for most listings. Only CELLPA publishes it, at 60 and 90 minutes, Juno SEOUL at 90 minutes for its Signature, and Park Jun Cheongdam, at 1 hour 30. For everything else, ask when you book.
- Whether JUNO HAIR Myeongdong’s ₩220,000 Scalp Conditioning is the programme described on the salon’s own English site. The two pages describe their menus differently.
- What language you will actually be treated in. HOSU DOSAN’s listings state English consultation, Park Jun Cheongdam claims English and Japanese from every designer, JUNO HAIR Branch 4 says English-friendly. We took those at their word; we did not sit in a chair and test them.
- Whether any of these salons hold a slot without a deposit. Cancellation terms are not published consistently across either the platform listings or the salons’ own sites.
Conclusion
The head spa is the rare Korean beauty service where the English-language internet has settled on a shape — the 18-step — without settling on a price. Three salons carry almost the entire English-language reputation, and two of them will not tell you what it costs until you message them.
Meanwhile there is a published, comparable market underneath: thirteen treatments across eight salons from ₩44,000 to ₩366,000, with the branded 15-step and 18-step programmes sitting at ₩180,000 and ₩250,000 in Seongsu. Same brand as one of the famous ones, a different branch, and a number on the page.
So: Park Jun Beauty Lab Seongsu if you want the programme the posts are about, at a known price. HOSU DOSAN if you want the treatment without the ritual, or the treatment plus a cut. Gungseochae if ₩44,000 for a scalp massage and a blow dry sounds like the correct amount of money. Eco Jardin if the reputation is what you are buying and you do not mind asking what it costs.

What is the difference between a 15-step and an 18-step head spa?
Three steps, and they are named. Eco Jardin publishes both programmes in full: the 15-step runs microscope diagnosis, neck massage, suction-machine muscle release, hot towel, aroma oil cleansing, galvanic sealing brush, scrub, steam mist, nourishing shampoo, Y-stick, Yume spa bed, rediagnosis, growth tonic, T-stick and finish. The 18-step is the same sequence with a scalp massage, a herbal scalp pack and a steam mist cap added after the spa bed. So the extra three steps are relaxation and a mask, not a different technology. Step counts are each salon's own marketing rather than an industry standard, and a 10-step at one salon can contain more than a 15-step at another.
