Booking a Korean Head Spa in Seoul: 16 Listings at 8 Salons Compared on Duration, Inclusions and Closing Time

Ten of the 16 head spa listings compared here leave out how long the treatment lasts. That gap is what the booking message has to close. Book the premium programmes three to seven days ahead, and earlier for a weekend, because they run in one or two rooms per salon. Read the duration rather than the step count. Then ask in the messenger whether the blow-dry is included, whether the room is private, and whether the therapist can explain in English. Those answers shape the visit more than the price does. Before you book: five questions
- How long is it, door to door? A 90-minute programme plus consultation and drying is closer to two hours. Six of the 16 head spa listings compared on K-Beauty Station publish a duration, and the other ten leave you to ask in the messenger.
- Is drying included, and can I leave with styled hair? Entry-level scalp treatments at hair salons include a blow-dry as a matter of course. HOSU DOSAN’s ₩80,000 listing says so on the page, in the words “scalp analysis, massage & blow dry”. Some spa-bed programmes end with towel-dried hair. If you have plans afterwards, ask.
- Private room or open floor? This is the question the listings will not answer for you. None of the 16 states whether the room is private. The “Private” badge that shows on some product pages is a listing-visibility flag: the entry-level ₩80,000 HOSU DOSAN listing carries the same badge as the ₩310,000 CELLPA one. Parkjun BeautyLAB Seongsu Perfume’s store page is the one place private space is mentioned at all. What it says is that the salon “operate[s] a VIP room for customers who want a more private experience” — a fact about the venue, possibly a paid option, not a statement that your ₩180,000 booking is in it. Ask in the messenger, because the same answer covers whether you can keep a hijab on, whether men and women are separated, and whether you can doze off.
- Can the therapist explain what they are doing in English? Do not assume it from the price. One salon says so on the listing itself. HOSU DOSAN’s three head spa pages — Head Spa, Head Spa & Cut and Head Spa & Make-up — each state that English consultation is available, and its Women’s Cut listing ends “English OK”. No other store or product page among the 16 names a language, which is not the same as no English. What every store page does publish is its messenger channels. On the English pages of K-Beauty Station that channel is overwhelmingly one: of the 137 stores listed in English, 134 publish a WhatsApp contact and one publishes WeChat. Switch the site to Japanese or Traditional Chinese and the same stores show LINE instead. Switch to Simplified Chinese and they show WeChat. Write first, in whichever of those you actually use. The treatment itself is largely silent either way.
- Is there a consultation and diagnosis first? The scalp-analysis programmes photograph your scalp before and after. If the listing does not mention diagnosis, ask. A treatment sold by step count is a different product from one sold by diagnosis.
What the 16 listings publish, and what you have to ask for

An em dash means the page does not publish that figure, not that the treatment has no duration or no structure — it means you find out by asking, which is the whole argument for writing to the salon before you pay.
Duration and step count almost never appear together. Only Juno SEOUL publishes both, on both of its listings — 15 steps in 60 minutes at ₩200,000, 18 steps in 90 minutes at ₩220,000. CELLPA publishes minutes and no steps. Parkjun publishes steps and no minutes. Juno SEOUL’s pair are the only listings in this set that let you work out what you are buying per hour.
The step count is a name, not a specification. Four of the 16 carry one. The two 18-step programmes are ₩30,000 apart. At Parkjun, the gap between its own 15-step and its own 18-step is ₩70,000. So three steps cost ₩70,000 at one salon, while at another three steps plus thirty minutes cost ₩20,000. Those two numbers cannot both be a price per step.
The bundles are other services with a head spa attached. Four listings include a cut or make-up: ₩140,000 and ₩200,000 at HOSU DOSAN, ₩363,000 and ₩366,000 at JUNG SAEM MOOL INSPIRATION West. They sit at the top of the price range because of the cut and the make-up, not because the scalp work is longer, so compare them against each other rather than against the ₩180,000 spa-bed programmes.
Timing
Weekday mornings and early afternoons have the most availability. Saturday afternoons book out first. But the constraint that decides more dates than price does is the venue’s own clock, which varies far more than the treatments do.

That column is arithmetic, not a published booking cutoff: closing time minus two hours, what a 90-minute programme plus consultation and drying takes door to door. Every salon sets its own last-appointment rule and none publishes it, so treat that column as the latest hour worth asking about rather than a slot you can claim. Ratings are the venue’s and repeat identically on each of its listings, so read them as the salon’s reputation rather than that treatment’s, and review counts are shown here as the bands the listing displays.
The name on the door is not always the neighbourhood. Parkjun BeautyLAB Seongsu Perfume is at 11 Dongil-ro 18-gil in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, across the river bend from Seongsu proper. BY SEOUL is listed around Myeongdong, but its fourth floor is on Mugyo-ro in Mugyo-dong, a different Jung-gu neighbourhood. Both are perfectly reachable. Just do not budget the journey from the name.
The real scheduling squeeze is HOSU DOSAN. It is the cheapest English-stated option in the set, and the hardest to fit into a trip: shut Monday and Tuesday, closing at 18:00 on the days it trades. That rules out an evening appointment there entirely, and puts the last sensible 90-minute start at 16:00. If your only free window is a Monday evening, all seven of the other venues are open, Monday and public holidays included, and five of them are still worth asking about at 19:00.
If you plan a cut the same day, book the spa first — clean, pliable hair is easier to cut. Two venues sequence it for you in one booking; at the rest it is two appointments, and the table in the next section shows what that costs.
A note on the clinic route. If the scalp problem that brought you here has a name, a clinic rather than a salon is the right room, and clinic hours are shaped differently. GU Clinic Gangnam Branch in Seocho-gu is a skin clinic on the same platform, rated 4.9 from 10,000+ reviews; it runs 10:30–21:00 on weekdays and 10:30–19:00 at weekends and public holidays, open every day of the year. That is later on a weekday than three of the eight salons above, and never dark. What it does not sell is a head spa: its eight listings run ₩29,000 to ₩1,990,000, and every one of them is skin or lifting work. The medical side is easier to book and is a different purchase, so decide which one you want before you look at either calendar.
Spa plus a cut on the same day: bundled or two bookings

₩82,500 at Gungseochae is the cheapest spa-and-cut combination among the eight venues in this guide. It undercuts the ₩140,000 HOSU DOSAN bundle by a margin that pays for the taxi between the two Gangnam addresses several times over. What you give up is the blow-dry-and-analysis description, the stated English consultation and the head director’s cut, none of which Gungseochae’s one-line listing claims.
HOSU DOSAN’s bundle is a real discount, but a small one. ₩140,000 against ₩150,000 bought separately saves ₩10,000 on a women’s cut and nothing at all on a men’s, where ₩80,000 plus ₩60,000 is also ₩140,000. Book the bundle for the single appointment and the guaranteed sequence, not for the saving.
Juno SEOUL publishes one cut listing, Cut & Perm, and it is headlined at ₩15,000 — but that ₩15,000 is its bang trim. The same price list puts a designer cut at ₩45,000, a senior director cut at ₩55,000 and a director cut at ₩65,000, so ₩45,000 is the figure used above and the total moves up with the stylist you book. JUNG SAEM MOOL INSPIRATION West does not sell a head spa on its own, so the only way to price its scalp portion is to subtract the ₩88,000 cut from the ₩363,000 bundle — around ₩275,000, arrived at by arithmetic rather than published anywhere. CELLPA by Cheongdam publishes no haircut at all, so a same-day cut there means a second venue.
What to bring and wear
Nothing in your hair, so no products that morning, and a top you do not mind getting damp at the neckline. No plans that need a specific hairstyle for the next hour, unless drying is confirmed. Remove earrings. If you are booking one of the four listings that includes a cut or make-up, allow well beyond the two hours the spa portion alone suggests. None of those four publishes a total duration.

Prices on K-Beauty Station are per programme and include what the listing states. That is an eightfold spread. The four bundles hold the top of it; the twelve spa-focused listings run ₩44,000 to ₩350,000, and ten of those twelve sit at ₩180,000 or above. Deposits and cancellation windows are set per venue, and neither the listings nor the salons’ own sites publish them consistently. Read the listing, then arrange the rest in that store’s messenger rather than by phone, because that gives you the answer in writing.
